Matt, Angela, Judah, and Ainsley came to Blue Hills in 2022. Before this, Matt served as an associate pastor at Redemption Church of Auburn while completing his seminary studies. He enjoys reading, baseball, Yorkshire tea, and hiking with his family. His passion for Blue Hills is to see people saved and transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and the preaching of the Word of God. He and the pastoral team aim to create a gospel-centered atmosphere where Christ is exalted, people are served, and our community is reached. 

Derek, Kassa, Luke, and Matthew came to Blue Hills in 2017. Prior to this call, Derek served in various church roles, such as youth pastor, deacon, and small group leader. He and the family came as part of a revitalization team to restart the church and continue its rich history and faithful contribution to the Independence community. Derek’s passions are teaching God’s word, discipleship, community outreach, and applying his entrepreneurial mindset to church administration. He enjoys watching his kids play sports, camping with family, exploring new technologies, and fishing.

Tim and Sydney joined Blue Hills in 2023 and jumped right into serving in youth ministry. Their desire is to see youth grow in biblical truth, embrace the gospel, and become devoted followers of Christ. They adore their daughter, Charlotte, and enjoy the outdoors, quality coffee, and their Goldendoodle, Nala.

Aaron has faithfully served Blue Hills since 2020. He studies at Spurgeon College with a focus on business. As our worship director, he helps us worship the Lord in a biblical and Christ-exalting way, and as our communications director, he helps bring the gospel and the mission of Blue Hills to a wider audience.
